Media Resources

Students, faculty, and staff, welcome to the Learning Resources Center (LRC) Media Resources page.  During the COVID-19 Pandemic, the LRC has moved to remote service delivery, including access to Media Resources.

The LRC Media Resources services supports your online video streaming needs through free access to online videos via Kanopy and by free streaming access to the film Bauhaus Spirit.  You can access these resources by clicking on the links below and then entering your Pipeline username and password when prompted.

Frequently Asked Questions 

  • Students and faculty can request films and videos by contacting the Media Technician, Julio Martinez (jmartinez16@sbcc.edu). Please be aware that some media will not be available. 

  • Students can access workshops remotely by emailing the Media Technician, Julio Martinez (jmartinez16@sbcc.edu). Use your Pipeline email and include the full name of the workshop in the subject line. Pre-recorded workshops will be shared via a file link for a limited time. Contact Julio Martinez (jmartinez16@sbcc.edu) if you are unable to watch the video before the link expires.

  • Chromebooks are available to current SBCC students through the Luria Library. Please click on the following link for more information: https://libguides.sbcc.edu/chromebooks

  • Alexander Street Press is an online video streaming platform with online videos for disciplines such as Film, History, Psychology, Anthropology, Politics, Theatre, Business, Music and many more.  This platform gives you the unique ability to create video clips and embed films on canvas.

  • Kanopy is a video streaming service that provides access to more than 24,000 independent, foreign, documentary films and more! This service is free for our SBCC students and can be accessed either by computer, mobile device or television! All you’ll need is a web browser to support HTML5 video or download the Kanopy app.

  • An international documentary exploring the history, both present and future of utopian design. The crossmedia project started in 2019 and created a social movement around the world.
